I lyset af, i skyggen af
I lyset af, I skyggen af In (english: ‘In the light of, In the shadow of) explores the the influence of light and shadow on how we perceive the world.
This series of work was made from a desire to convey existential experiences associated with changes in the homeostasis of the nervous system, experienced in relation to a severe concussion. It is and attempt to up the painting to be able to contain several dimensions and a form of life and movement that reflects how every experience contains several layers and can be changed based on how it is illuminated. It investigates how being in a changed sensory state, where normal bodily rhythms and filters are put out of play, can create other encounters or ’interference patterns’ with the surroundings. How in the midst of the uncomfortable ’chaos’ or darkness, crevices of light, sensitivity and openness can be found that enables new connections with the non-human, in this case a grand old weeping beech tree.
