VITAL SIGNS

Vital Signs is an ongoing art and research project rooted in my personal experience of severe concussion. A concussion is like a mental earthquake that shatters one’s internal infrastructure and changes the ‘inner aesthetics’ of a person, while leaving the exterior seemingly untouched. Vital Signs explores different aesthetic approaches to convey the invisible and seemingly inexplicable sensations and experiences related to being concussed. The unbalanced state of concussion somehow makes lifeprosseses that are normally hidden noticeable, due to skewed attention filters. Vital Signs is a reflection on the repercussions of disruptive and traumatic experiences as well as the potential of ‘rescaping’ one’s interior through healing.

PHOENIX POND

This series of paintings deals with the temporality of defining moments where time seems more condensed. It seeks to convey the sensations related rebirth or mental shifts.

REPERCUSSED

‘Repercussed’ merges images of trauma and healing. It plays with the the hierarchy of our attention and how disruption of our normal filters can change the way we experience the world.

Shown at Limassol Municipal Arts Centre as part of the group exhibition Rescaping May 27th -July 6th 2022.

VITAL SIGNS

This total installation that game name for the bigger project was shown at Leipzig International Art Programme for the group show Last Supper, October 2021.

Vital signs combined a range of installations, primarily made of hare foots clover and Clematis Vulgaris and different object to create a space of resonance for the neurologically imbalanced. A space to mirror sensations of growing and decaying nerves. To reflect yearning to rest or yearning for a calming of the signals and rhythms of life; heart beat, breath, bussing spine. A space to place sensations.
